We fell in love with the Bracco back in 2002, and after a lot of searching we were about to make our wonderful purchase in 2003, then I fell pregnant with twins, so the thought of twins and a young dog as well as two others dogs, it was a bit too much to say the least!
So then in the summer of 2007 we restarted our search but after having had another baby in 2006! So we would be a 3 kids and 3 dog household. Then as luck would have it I noticed a litter just down the road in Elgin, Inverness!!! So after a short flight we got to see this wonderful litter, and with lots of help from Lynne Bowley we were gifted to have Rocco (Gunsyn Milano).
He is just the perfect dog very energetic when out but lovely and calm in the house, and he absolutely adores the 3 boys and they think the world of him too. I can let him off the lead anywhere and his recall is fantastic. I just wish sometimes I could say the same about the kids! If they don't come back when I ask them to, its Rocco to the rescue he goes and rounds them up, bless him, a dog and nanny rolled into one! We also have a kitten and Rocco plays mum to her as well always letting her cuddle up to him and suckle on him!! He does not even bat an eye lid.
Sadly on Boxing day we had to have our 12yr old Rottweiler Gemma pts. So we have been back down to a 2 dog family, my other dog being a rescued 10 yr old Collie cross.
I am very grateful to Chris Wilson and Jackie Bowler who run the ringcraft classes that we attend in Llysfaen on a Wednesday evening, they have taught me a lot. Rocco absolutely adores our Wednesday nights and I think he believes everybody has just come to see him!!!
I am absolutely smitten with the Bracco and think that I have truly found the breed for our family, so much so that I am very happy to say that Isabella (Trudale Fiore del Petalo) has now arrived from Bev Matthews.
More to follow re Isabella.
