I have lived with dogs all my life and grew up with Newfoundland’s which my parents bred and showed to a great success.

My love of Gordon Setters started at the age of 14 when attending an agricultural show I saw two adult Gordon males standing with the sun streaming down on their glorious black and tan coats and I was hooked.

It was not until many years later and married that I persuaded my husband Paul to come to Crufts with me and that is where his love of this noble breed began. We took home our first Gordon male ‘Wesley’ 7 years ago and decided that to learn more about the breed we would give showing a go. Fortunately, we have been very successful, and have met some lovely people many of whom we consider good friends. Wesley became a Show Champion and to date has won 5 Challenge Certificates (CC), 3 with Best of Breed (BOB), and 5 Reserve Challenge Certificate (RCC). We show under the Lantivet Affix.

Rohan joined our household just over 4 years ago and he also has acquitted himself very well within the show ring, gaining to date 1 CC and 1 RCC. Both boys have won life qualification at Crufts.

Our dogs are very much family members firstly and show dogs second. They live together in our house with us and spend most of the day with me doing whatever I am doing. Both dogs are used to cats having lived with them all of their lives.

We believe in socialising our dogs and both boys have attended obedience classes, Wesley having gained his Gold Good Citizen Award and Rohan his Silver. We have also taken them to Agility which they both love.

We are fortunate to live in a lovely part of the country were we have the space to free run the boys which is truly a wonderful sight to see. Both our boys have good hip scores 3:4=7 and 5:3=8.

Our household to some may seem slightly eccentric as we love to dance and muck around and the dogs love to join in. They also like nothing better than to grab a toy from their toy box and entice you to play with them around the house and garden. They both are very affectionate dogs and like us love a cuddle at impromptu moments throughout the day.

They are our life and we are theirs – what more can you ask for!
