Due to the serious implications, and untruths aired on the BBC 1 programme 'Pedigree Dogs Exposed' we would like people viewing our page to take a little time to read the following document written by the Basset Hound Club of Wales correcting the one-sided and factually incorrect coverage our beloved Basset Hound received and continues to receive in the media.

****RALEGH BEST OF BREED CRUFTS 2008****
We are Di Melbourne & Paul Isted, we have extremely strong links to Heather & Derek Storton & their DEREHEATH kennel, to whom we owe so much for their friendship and advice.
Showing our Bassets is of major interests - but we equally enjoy spending time with our hounds at home and walking in the wonderful Nottinghamshire countryside where we now live. We both judge Bassets and other hound breeds.
Visitors are welcome (by prior appointment only) and we are always willing to take telephone calls / emails about this wonderful breed.
Our first home-bred litter was born in April 2006 Dereheath Gunnar x Dereheath Catherine (the Chansons), we kept a bitch (Lucienne) and a dog (Trenet), both have been doing well for us - with Luce doing incredible - many BPIS at Champ shows and 2 CC's at 23 months,
Our second litter was born January 2008 - Dereheath Moses x Dereheath Catherine (the Chansons Vol.2) including Dearduenna Remy, Dearduenna Patachou (owned and exhibited by Blake & Irene Brunskill) and Dearduenna Zazie (owned & exhibited by Stephen Archer).
Puppies occasionally available, advice always available. |
