Dereheath

Bassets have been a part of our lives for nearly 30 years, initially as pets, and for the past 20 years also breeding, showing and judging. We have bred and shown 12 UK Champions, I German and 3 Irish Champions. We feel particularly proud to have owned and shown two tri coloured hounds that together have won 46 Challenge Certificates. Both these hounds are fathered by our own Ch. Dereheath Keaton . Ch. Bromwylva Imperial Mint of Dereheath is currently Top Basset in the UK and has 25CCs to his credit.
His most recent wins include Reserve Best in Show at the Hound Association Championship Show 2008 and the Hound Group at Darlington Championship Show 2008.

His kennelmate, Ch. Dereheath Marcus Aurelius has 21 CCs to date and was BOB at Crufts in 2006 and Top Basset male in the UK in 2007.

We were the Basset Hound Club's Breeder of the Year in 2005 and 2007 and Top Breeder in 2001 & 2006. We also bred the Top Sire for 2001, 2003 and 2004 and 2006 and the Top Stud Dog in 2005 together with Top Puppy in Breed in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2006.

Our show team now includes Buzz Lightyear of Dereheath who was Top Puppy in Breed at the halfway stage this year and recently went Reserve Best Dog at Driffield Championship Show and Reserve Best Dog at the Hadrian BHC under judge, Marita Rodgers.















Although showing has always played a major part in our life, we enjoy even more time at home spent with our hounds. All our puppies are home reared and finding them the right homes is of paramount importance to us. Consequently, we are always pleased to receive phone calls and/or e-mails asking for our advice or help and are always happy for people to visit us to see our hounds.

We both award Challenge Certificates in Bassets and have enjoyed some wonderful judging appointments abroad including: the Basset Hound Club of California's Championship Show in 2004, the Dutch Basset Hound Club Championship Show in 2005 and the Basset Hound Club of Victoria's Championship Show in Australia in 2006.
